I’m a storyteller.

Through my writing and photography, I capture a story, an idea or a concept in a thorough, meticulously researched and captivating way that engages any audience.

With a B.A. in Journalism and an M.S. in Education, I am currently an associate writer and editor for The Weather Channel‘s website in Atlanta, Georgia, where I report on breaking weather news, features and environmental issues. At weather.com, I’m proud to be a part of a digital content team that has won numerous awards, including an Edward R. Murrow award for best network website.

Before joining the team at the Weather Channel, I worked as a reporter at The Advocate Messenger in Danville, Kentucky. As part of my duties with the newspaper, I covered the city, county and economic development news, as well as breaking, features and investigative reports. I was also a photographer for the newspaper.

I also work as a contract writer for The Inquisitr News, WebProNews and take on other freelance writing, projects and photography opportunities as they arise, focusing on solid, SEO content that gets people talking. With thousands of articles under my belt, I have become adept at capturing the stories that entice readers.

I love what I do. I love using photography and words to share the story of my community, my life experiences and the latest news and trends.

For many years, I taught English, writing and journalism at an international school in Seoul, South Korea. I gleaned a plethora of skills and incites while teaching kids how to master the written word, use their computer skills to design pages for the high school newspaper and yearbook and encourage them to tailor their voice for an audience or find their own voice when appropriate.

I loved living and working for more than 25 years overseas — in France, Germany, Finland and S. Korea — and I’ve been to all parts of the world. When I returned home to the United States, I decided that I also wanted to return “home” to my first loves — writing, designing, communicating through social media and photography.
